Arches are Amazing.

Backstory

So we'll be learning together on this one, as I've only used Arch maybe once or twice, and only once installed as the primary OS and all this about 20 years ago.

If I remember correctly I'd made it work as a live rescue disk maybe once or twice and the native (primary OS) install only lasted... Maybe a month, MAYBE. I was in a serious exploratory phase with Linux operating systems, reading everything I could and keeping an eye on distrowatch.com for the latest and greates. Somehow or another I got the feeling that this MASSIVE website listing and reviewing linux distributions wasn't so much a guide or even a catalog as much as it was a to do list. At the time I didn't really see this as the "seek therapy" light on life's dashboard that it clearly is, but as long as you live, you can learn.

Jokes aside, I was enjouing the smorgasbord and though Arch was impressive for stability, ease of use and crisp responsiveness in conmmanding hardware, I made mental note and moved on to something else. Maybe it was RedHat, maybe Slackware, I'm not sure.

In any case, fast forward from the heady early aughts to just post pandemic, 2021 and I'm visiting dear friends for the holiday when I notice my buddy's Linux install...
